Quality Cannot Be Inspected Into a Module

A factory can look excellent on audit day. The line is clean. The specified materials are available. Process documents are in place, and inspectors can observe the production run.


But a photovoltaic module is not made on audit day alone. It is made across thousands of shifts, material deliveries, machine adjustments and production decisions - including the days when no customer or external inspector is present.


That is why the real question is not only whether a factory has passed an audit. It is who controls the production system every day.


A Snapshot Cannot Guarantee a System

A professional factory inspection can confirm capability, review documentation and examine samples. It is valuable, but it remains a view of a particular moment.


Reliability depends on what happens between those moments: whether incoming materials stay consistent, approved recipes are followed, machine parameters remain within limits, substitutions are controlled and every batch can be traced when a question appears years later.


A factory audit is a snapshot. Reliability is a production system.


Quality cannot be inspected into a finished module. It has to be designed, controlled and documented throughout production.


We Know the Difference Because We Have Installed Both

BISOL's experience does not come only from manufacturing its own modules. When particular projects or customer requirements called for externally sourced modules, BISOL also procured and installed them.


Those purchases included professional factory inspections and BISOL's presence during production. Even so, serious failures later appeared in some externally sourced modules.


This is not an argument about a country or a single supplier. It is an operational lesson: even careful supplier oversight is not the same as continuous control by the manufacturer responsible for every production day.


What Continuous Control Looks Like

  • Stable, proven materials — with controlled changes rather than silent substitutions.

  • Defined production recipes and machine parameters that are monitored across every shift.

  • Serial-level traceability connecting each module to its materials, measurements, settings and production records.

  • Testing throughout the process, not only a final check at the end of the line.


The Result Must Appear on the Roof

BISOL designs and manufactures its photovoltaic modules in the European Union, with direct control of materials and production. Its in-house tracking system records the key production data for every module, while each module passes more than 20 tests and inspections.


The result is measurable. BISOL currently reports a module claim rate of 0.01%. Across two decades of operation, it also reports no complaint caused by moisture intrusion or module delamination.


These figures are not explanations of quality. They are what a controlled production system has delivered after installation.


Quality Is Proven After the Audit

Quality is not what a manufacturer shows during an audit. It is what the module proves after years on the roof.


Control over production leads to control over consequences.
