PREBOLD, 1st December 2010 – BISOL began today at the Letonja brothers Primary School in Šmartno ob Paki December's openings of solar power plants.
BISOL renovated and leased the roof of the local primary school in Šmartno ob Paki for the period of 25 years. On it BISOL installed a 116 kW solar power plant, which will, according to estimations, annually produce 122 MWh. Mayor Alojz Podgoršek speaking at the opening ceremony emphasized that this project is a perfect example of cooperation between local authorities and successful companies. “I wish some of the lawmakers could be here today, as the bureaucratic hurdles that had to be overcome to realize this project were absolutely absurd. Without those problems we could have accomplished even more.”
The power plant will be able to supply with electricity 30 houses in the vicinity. The PV system will save more than 73 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Bojan Juras, the principal of the Letonja brothers Primary School, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the school gained a roof with two functions. He also stressed the importance of teaching pupils, who every day learn also about ecology, environmental awareness.
Viktorija Robnik, BISOL’s representative, said: “I want to mention the good cooperation with the municipality Šmartno ob Paki and the Letonja brothers Primary School, who realized that the field of photovoltaics can be used also for educational purposes.” This year BISOL has collaborated with numerous municipalities: Cerknica, Litija, Puconci, Celje, Prebold, Polzela, Slovenske Konjice, Vuzenica, Radlje ob Dravi and others. The company is convinced that the number of municipalities who will offer roof surfaces for lease will increase next year. In December two more openings, one in Šmarje pri Jelšah and one in Prebold, are to follow.
As usual, BISOL again organized a lecture, which covered the following questions:
- How to ensure the highest yield of a photovoltaic system and, consequently, a profitable investment?
- Which are the construction elements of solar power plants and how do we assemble them?
- What are the possibilities of financing?
- What needs special attention before deciding to invest into a solar power plant?
- What are the conditions for building a solar power plant in the next year and how do these conditions influence the profitability of the investment.
