PREBOLD, August 31^st – Strategic forum Bled, one of the most important annual gathering s of leading decision-makers from private, public and academic spheres, closed this Monday. The two-day forum, which was supported by BISOL as its general sponsor, attracted more than 400 attendees from 40 countries. They discussed the challenges that the international community can expect in the upcoming decade.


The issue of increasing energy demands, one of the main topics at the forum, was addressed at the panel "Transition to New Energy." Among the speakers was also BISOL’s CEO, dr.Uros Merc, who presented the facts from a comprehensive survey SET For 2020 (conducted by European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) in collaboration with A.T. Kearney). He emphasized that in Italy the electricity from the sun is already competitive with conventional energy sources, while by the year 2020 the prices of electricity from the sun will be competitive in more than 90 % of the European market without subventions or other forms of government support.

Dr. Merc attended several bilateral meetings with distinguished guests of the Forum, among others with Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, dr. Janez Potočnik, European Commissioner for the Environment, Kevin Morrison, President of the Management Board of British Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia, Peter Reiniger, Managing Director for Central and South Eastern Europe, EBRD, and Jorge Borges, State Secretary of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Co-operation and Communities of Cape Verde.

At the Forum, BISOL took the opportunity to show once more that their solutions have been following closely the technological breakthroughs in other industries, as they presented an innovative photovoltaic power outlet for the electric car. The power outlet allows the car to be recharged with the same ease as one can recharge their mobile phone.
