Dr. Uros Merc
President and CEO Â After successfully defending his thesis on quantum mechanics, Dr. Uros Merc received his Ph. D. in 2005 and became an entrepreneur in solar photovoltaic industry. As co-founder, majority shareholder, President and CEO of a group of companies named BISOL Group, d.o.o., today he runs an international corporation with 300 employees and 21 dependent companies that are operating in more than 17 countries worldwide. The BISOL Group headquartered in Slovenia has its representative offices in Belgium, France, Italy, United Kingdom and Germany. One of the Group companies is specially designated to employ disabled people, which is one of many ways how our Group pays back to the local society. As recognized by many international institutions, the BISOL Group is positioned amongst the best European companies performing manufacturing processes, offering services and making own investments. Â Setting standards and educating general public about the future of the solar energy makes Dr. Merc an active member in Slovenian and international public life. As a scientist, CEO, president of Slovenian Photovoltaic Industry Association, and a close associate of European Photovoltaic Industry Association, he is invited to numerous events, conferences and scientific gatherings to share his view and knowledge on the future of photovoltaics worldwide. He is also active in the Slovenian energy sector as a member of the Council for Sustainable Development at the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia of Climate Change, member of the Council for an Innovative Society at the National Council, and honourable member of Association of the Slovenian Active Innovators. For two years he was a Member of the Supervisory Board of a utility company Elektro Celje, d.d., where he temporarily took the position of President of the Board. His references with Elektro Celje demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and valuable experience in energy business and electricity distribution market.

 Marko Policnik
Marko Policnik was born in October 1976. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana. There he is also continuing his postgraduate study. His area of research is in telecommunications with an emphasis in digital processing. As a young entrepreneur he already has a successful company startup on his record. Policnik joined Blues Solar in 2005 and assumed a position of CTO with the establishment of BISOL. As present-day Vice President and CTO of BISOL Group his responsibilities include: Technology, Production, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Safety and Technical Services, Automation of Processes, Research & Development, and IT.

 Dag Kralj, MBA  Dag was born in February 1969. He graduated with a BA degree from Webster University (Vienna/Austria & St.Louis/USA) in 1991, after which he joined the Bank of Slovenia – a newly established central bank. He co-founded the foreign exchange reserves management department, which he also managed for two years at the end of his five-year tenure at the bank. In 1997, he was accepted to Harvard Business School, where in 1999 he became the first Slovenian to earn an MBA degree from the school.
After Harvard, Dag switched to management consulting and joined McKinsey’s London office, working mainly on strategy consulting for the financial industry. In 2002, he returned to Slovenia, worked for a few years as a project director at a leading regional M&A adviser, after which he joined a leading regional asset management company, KD Group. There he served in different capacities, from heading ambitious regional expansion efforts in SE Europe, presiding over the Board of KD Funds, to that of serving as a Director of Strategy & Development on a Group level. Dag joined BISOL in November 2009 and his experience in finance and management complements the well-outstanding technical expertise of other Members of the Board.  |

 Dr. Peter Baloh  Dr. Baloh was born in August 1976. After receiving an honors degree in business administration from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana, he worked for Deloitte & Touche in auditing and consulting. He holds an MPhil in Knowledge Management from University of Salford, Manchester, UK (2008), and a Ph. D. in the area of Knowledge and innovation management from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana (2009). He has held visiting positions at RMIT and Victoria universities in Australia, at National University of Singapore, several universities in South Korea, the University of Salford in the UK and at the University of Washington, Seattle, US. During his academic career he had worked closely with numerous companies as a consultant in the field of management of technology, processes and innovation. As an assistant professor he today collaborates with renowned IEDC Bled Schoold of Management. Within BISOL Group, his responsibilities include strategy and its operationalization, innovation management, business process design and change, management and finance of project development, and information systems support.  |
